According to the original poster, their fridge mainly consists of condiments, cheese, and eggs. The pantry has dried pasta with other foods that belong to her sister.
The worst part of this family? The OP’s dad.
Believe it or not, he has all the good foods which he locks away for himself to consume. The keys are even hanging on his neck!
! This leaves little for the rest of the family, especially when the mom also takes the OP’s food without asking. The OP, frustrated by hunger and a lack of options, bought their own food to enjoy but found it eaten by their mom.
When confronted, the mom used a flimsy excuse, making the OP feel guilty for simply wanting to eat. The situation escalated quickly, highlighting underlying tensions and issues within the family dynamic.
Despite their closeness, the stress and strain of the situation are taking a toll on everyone. The OP is determined to make changes for themselves, including saving up to transfer schools and perhaps leave the stressful environment for good.
Still, she felt guilty over yelling at her mom after discovering what she did.

The OP’s dad is something else. You can sense from the OP’s words that he has done something worse than what was revealed in the post.
The OP plans to leave this house and start a better life for herself.
The OP is headed toward the right direction — saving up and leaving this place.
Although the mom is considered the a-hole, she is also the victim in this situation.
Unfortunately, the mom is showing childish behavior. She should’ve just bought her own food if she can buy the OP a replacement for what she ate.
It’s either the OP leaves together with her mom or sis, or they kick the dad out.
Breaking into the cabinet would be justifiable.
Given the OP is starving and sleeping off low blood sugar, it’s understandable why she reacted the way she did. While we can label the mom as the a-hole, the true a-hole in this situation is the OP’s dad.
She should save up money and get out of her house as soon as she can. She can’t go on living on what’s left on the fridge with a dad who starves them.
We wish the OP could get the money she needs as soon as possible.
