Couple In Shock As Mom With 2 Young Kids Refuses Babysitting Their Kids At 3 AM Despite Them Having Medical Emergency

Come on, aren’t kids just the best? Kids are passionate about a plethora of things, and those same things have the power to impart the most valuable life lessons to us.

Adults sometimes assume they know everything there is to know about life, so when it comes to children, we unintentionally slip into a preaching mindset and deliver some unsolicited sermons. But are kids really that difficult to handle?

Well, sometimes they are, and the OP wasn’t about to take on extra duties for additional kids. The OP lives in a block of newly built apartments where everyone is getting familiar with their neighbors.

They have done favors for each other in the past, and it was mainly the OP giving them things out. The OP has two kids, a 2-year-old and an 11-month-old.

She’s currently solo parenting as her husband has gone away for a few days to spend time with his family and friends. There’s a mum group chat of the mums in the building who swap kids around and babysit each other’s kids for a few hours, and they rotate.

The OP never participated, but still, her neighbor thought it wise to drop their kids at her place because they had an emergency. The OP refused to take them in, and you can find out what happens next by reading the full story below.

OP has offered the following explanation for why they think they might be the a-hole:

I could be the asshole as it was only a hour and it would’ve helped them a great deal but now I’ve got a angry neighbour I have to live with.

I think people are forgetting how 1 yr olds act, they’re usually very attached to their carer and I’m sure watching his parents leave him with me (a stranger) would’ve left him inconsolable. Waking up my 2 kids and having all 4 awake at 3am sounds nightmarish.

I just spoke to the other neighbour who took them in and she told me the sister didn’t get there until 8am. Also the kids were awake the entire time and woke up her kids and trashed her house.

It is mind-boggling for anyone to consider leaving their children overnight with a neighbor they hardly know, without having made any advance plans or even alerted them to the possibility. Their children’s safety and well-being were neglected until the very last minute, despite having nine months to plan things.

The OP was declared not the AH and you drop your own verdict in the comments section below.
