The gloves are off and the secrets are being spilled when Donald Trump and Elon Musk are going head to head with a war of the words. Though it all started so well, and the tech billionaire appeared to settle into his position as Head of the Department of Government Efficiency, things slowly started to derail in the aftermath of the POTUS’ big, beautiful bill.
Just like how Elon Musk didn’t hold back when spectacularly claiming Donald Trump’s name is in the Epstein Files and this is the reason they’re being held back from being fully released, the President isn’t afraid to dish the dirt.
There were bizarre scenes when Musk appeared with a black eye during his farewell conference at the Oval Office. Sporting his typical ‘Dark MAGA’ hat, Musk claimed he got the shiner from ‘horsing’ around with his five-year-old son, Lil X. Addressing the elephant in the room, Musk explained: “I said go ahead and punch me in the face and he did. X could do it…”
The President Trump brushed off the injury and claimed: “I didn’t notice it, actually.”
Before things turned hostile between Trump and his former ally Elon Musk, there were lighter, more playful moments. Musk even joked that he “wasn’t anywhere near France,” referencing a recent incident in which Brigitte Macron playfully pushed President Emmanuel Macron’s face.
Trump, it seems, couldn’t help but notice Musk’s eye-catching presence—he later shared what he said to the billionaire just moments before they addressed the media.
Before their public falling-out on social media, Trump was asked how he felt about Musk’s criticism of his proposed bill.
A somber Trump admitted: “I can understand why he’s upset. Remember, he was here for a long time. You saw a man who was very happy when he stood behind the Oval Desk.”
As for his black eye, Trump continued: “And even with the black eye, I said, do you want a little makeup? We’ll get you a little makeup. But he said, no, I don’t think so, which is interesting and very nice.”
Musk getting punched by a five-year-old quickly became a target for mockery, with The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart taking the opportunity to poke fun at the situation.
Stewart contrasted a cheerful-looking Musk at a Trump rally with the worn-out, black-eyed version seen afterward, joking about how beaten down the tech mogul appeared. Feigning sympathy for the tech mogul, Stewart jibed: “Honestly, I’m starting to feel bad for this guy. Look at him, he’s been there four months. Look at the poor bastard. It only took four months to go from this to this.”
He concluded: “Look at this f***ing guy. He went from tech titan given a mandate to move fast and crush the deep state to a guy who had a bad night in a Nashville bar he can’t remember.
“He looks beaten down. He’s got that look on his face that I imagine his employees normally have. Black eye, thousand yard stare, this dude has seen some shit. I’d like to know at least how that happened.”
As for Musk’s time in politics, it looks like it’ll now be immortalized by one final picture of him sporting a Dark MAGA hat, a t-shirt saying ‘The Dogefather’, and a black eye.
